It’s a lucky person who gets to follow their passions in life. Being a journalist has allowed me to tell stories about interesting people, spend time with incredibly talented artists and travel to places I never would have experienced.
After graduating with an English degree from Barnard College/Columbia University I began working in television. I worked as a producer/writer for PBS in Chicago , CNN in Washington, D.C., WPEC-TV in West Palm Beach and freelanced for NBC Nightly News in Chicago.
I’ve won a couple awards, including 4 Midwest Emmys and a Peter Lisagor Award from the Chicago chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2000, I was awarded a journalism fellowship at the University of Michigan. My writing’s appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Parent, along with on-line travel magazines. I’m interested in combining my background in TV and writing to create new media on the web.
When I’m not enjoying my work, you’ll find me enjoying my 3 kids or reading a good book. Thanks to my dad, for encouraging my curiosity and passing on his wanderlust! Let the journey continue!
